Overview

Hike through lush green rice terraces, sleep in a traditional stilt house with the H'Mong people, and enjoy corn wine by the warm fireplace – all in just 2 days and 1 night.

Sapa is not just a misty town or winding slopes. The real Sapa lies beneath the trails, where you'll find Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, Ta Van, and Giang Ta Chai – fairy-tale villages nestled in the Muong Hoa valley. This 2-day-1-night trekking homestay tour will take you through the most beautiful routes in the Northwest, where human hands have turned steep mountain slopes into masterpieces of rice terraces.

You won't just be a tourist, but a companion to the H'Mong and Red Dao people on every step. In the evening at the homestay in Ta Van village, you'll gather around the fire, enjoy grilled local pork, and listen to the melodious sound of the mouth harp amidst the serene mountain forest. It's an experience that can't be bought with money, only felt with the heart.

We – local guides with over 10 years of experience – will lead you on little-known trails, show you precious medicinal plants, and tell you the story of love between a H'Mong boy and a Red Dao girl during the rice harvest season. This tour is suitable for travelers with average fitness, no professional climbing skills required, just a good pair of shoes and a spirit of exploration.

Come with us to see that Sapa is not just a destination, but also a meaningful encounter between people and nature, and local culture.

Day 1

Conquer Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai & overnight in Ta Van

Morning: Meet at Sapa town at 8:30 AM. Your guide will pick you up and begin the journey down to Y Linh Ho – the gateway to Muong Hoa Valley. The path winds along the mountain slopes, flanked by rice terraces in lush green (young rice) or golden yellow (harvest season). After 2 hours of easy trekking, you'll arrive at Lao Chai – the largest village of the H'Mong people. Take a break, enjoy green tea, and listen to your guide tell the story of how these steep terraces were formed.

Afternoon: Continue the trek along winding trails to Ta Van – the village of Red Dao and Giay people. Check into your homestay on a stilt house and immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere. In the afternoon, you can join the locals to pick wild vegetables and fruits, or light a fire to roast corn.

Evening: Enjoy a local specialty dinner with grilled local pork, boiled village chicken, stir-fried wild vegetables and apple cider wine. After dinner, your guide will organize a cultural exchange: H'Mong folk songs, mouth harp playing, and bamboo pole dancing. You'll sleep in a peaceful setting, only the sound of a stream and chirping insects.
