Yen Tu is famous for its system of pagodas, hermitages, stupas, forests, and its connection to King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong and the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen sect.

During the program, visitors will travel from Hanoi to Yen Tu, take the cable car up the mountain, and visit highlights such as Hue Quang Kim Thap, Hoa Yen Pagoda, Mot Mai Pagoda, the statue of Buddha King Tran Nhan Tong, An Ky Sinh, and Dong Pagoda. This tour is suitable for guests who want to combine cultural sightseeing, learn about Vietnamese Buddhism, enjoy mountain scenery, and have a light yet profound day experience.

Yen Tu is about 1,068m above sea level. Day 1

Explore Yen Tu – the Truc Lam Buddhist holy land

07:00: Pick up at hotel in central Hanoi
Car and guide pick up guests at hotel or central meeting point. Depart for Yen Tu, Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh. Travel time about 2.5 – 3 hours depending on traffic.
09:45: Arrive at Yen Tu relic site
Guests arrive at Yen Tu area, take a short rest, handle ticket procedures and prepare to start the tour. The guide gives an overview of Yen Tu, the Truc Lam Zen sect, King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong and the spiritual significance of the pilgrimage route.
10:15: Take cable car line 1 to Hue Quang Kim Thap / Hoa Yen Pagoda area
Guests use the cable car to shorten the travel time up the mountain. Along the way, guests can admire the forests, valleys and scenery of Yen Tu from above. The Yen Tu cable car system has 2 main sections with a total length of over 2,000m; line 1 takes guests from the Giai Oan Pagoda area to near Hue Quang Kim Thap and Hoa Yen Pagoda.
10:45: Visit Hue Quang Kim Thap and Hoa Yen Pagoda
Guests visit the Hue Quang Kim Thap area – an important point in the Yen Tu complex, then continue to Hoa Yen Pagoda, a prominent pagoda halfway up the mountain. The guide explains the architecture, history and role of these sites in the pilgrimage route.
11:45: Visit Mot Mai Pagoda
