Overview

Saigon Street Food by Motorbike is an evening food tour that lets you explore Saigon like a local: ride pillion on a motorbike with a rider/guide, through back alleys, night markets, food streets, and districts less frequented by tourists than the city center.

Saigon Street Food by Motorbike is an evening food tour that lets you explore Saigon like a local: ride pillion on a motorbike with a rider/guide, through back alleys, night markets, food streets, and districts less frequented by tourists than the city center.

Instead of just having dinner in a restaurant, you'll try many small dishes at different spots. Each stop tells a story about Saigon's cuisine: Southern dishes, Chinese-influenced dishes, street food, snacks, grilled items, desserts, and local coffee/beer.

Ho Chi Minh City is rated by many international food sources as one of Asia's most dynamic food destinations, where cuisine is influenced by the Mekong Delta, Chinese, Khmer, French, and many other cultural layers; dishes like banh mi, broken rice, hu tieu, sweet soup, snails, and banh xeo are easy to tell stories about to international guests.

This tour should be positioned as a food + culture + motorbike lifestyle experience, not just a dinner tour. The selling point is that guests ride with a local rider, visit more authentic food areas, eat more dishes, and feel the pulse of Saigon at night.

Detailed Itinerary

1

Day 1

17:30 – 18:00: Pick up from hotel in central Ho Chi Minh City
Rider/guide picks you up from your hotel in District 1, District 3, or a confirmed meeting point. You'll receive a helmet, hear basic safety instructions, and get an introduction to tonight's route.
18:00: Stop 1: Saigon-style starter
Start with an easy-to-eat dish like banh mi, fresh spring rolls, grilled pork with vermicelli, hu tieu, or banh canh depending on the route. The guide introduces Saigon's habit of light evening meals, snacking, and food stall culture.
18:45: Ride through local neighborhoods
Travel through local streets and alleys. This part is often a favorite as guests see real life: motorbikes, sidewalk stalls, people sitting on plastic stools, charcoal stoves, pushcarts, and street lights.
19:15: Stop 2: Banh xeo / bo la lot / grilled dishes
Try a main dish with strong Southern flavors. Banh xeo, bo la lot, or grilled dishes are great for guests to understand fresh herbs, dipping sauces, rice paper wraps, and local eating styles.
20:00: Stop 3: District 4 / seafood street / local snack
Visit a local food area, possibly trying snails, small seafood, grilled rice paper, stir-fried corn, grilled skewers, or street snacks. District 4 is often chosen by many food-by-motorbike tours for its many local eateries and lively night food atmosphere.
20:45: Stop 4: Chinatown / District 5 dessert or noodle stop
If the route goes to District 5, you can try Chinese-influenced dishes, sweet soup, dumplings, hu tieu, wonton soup, or dessert. Vietnam Travel also introduces Ho Chi Minh City's many sweet soup shops in Districts 1, 5, and 10, where Southern sweet soups are very diverse with beans, banana, corn, taro, black sesame, longan, lotus seeds, and many toppings.
21:30: Final drink stop
End with iced coffee with milk, sugarcane juice, lime tea, local beer, or dessert depending on the package. The guide summarizes the dishes you've tried and suggests more food spots for the next day.
22:00: Drop off at hotel
Tour ends. Drop-off can be at your hotel, a bar, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, or another dinner/drink spot if requested in advance.

The actual menu should be flexible based on the day, weather, opening hours, guest preferences, and pick-up/drop-off area.
