Overview
This is a three-day, two-night trip built around walking rather than driving between the sights of Phong Nha. The middle day takes you along forest trails, over limestone slopes and into a cave, and ends at a campsite where you sleep in a tent. The first night is in a hotel or lodge in Phong Nha, so the camping is one night of the trip rather than all of it.

A day on forest trails
On day two you walk forest trails, limestone slopes and dry stream beds with your guide and a porter, with a picnic lunch in the forest.
Into a cave
The trek stops at a cave with stalactites, a cave arch and an underground stream. Boots, hat, lamp and gloves are provided.
A night at the campsite
At the campsite you set up your tent, wash in a stream or natural pool and have a BBQ dinner by the campfire. Next morning you pack up and walk out.
Trail conditions and the camp night
The walking day crosses forest trails, limestone slopes and dry stream beds, and the cave section includes an underground stream. Before you leave Phong Nha, the guide checks boots, hat and lamp and takes a health confirmation.
At the campsite you are given a tent, sleeping bag and mat as part of the included services, and there is a stream or natural pool for a wash after the walk. Travel insurance is not included and is recommended.
