Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Hanoi – Ba Be Lake
Pick up from your hotel in central Hanoi or Noi Bai Airport as per confirmed schedule. Depart for Ba Be by private car, with a stop along the way for coffee and to enjoy the northern countryside scenery. Estimated travel time is about 5.5 – 6.5 hours. Arrive at Ba Be, check in at a clean homestay/eco lodge by the lake. The afternoon is free to relax, take a walk around the village, or watch the sunset over the lake. In the evening, enjoy dinner with local specialties and interact with the host family.
Day 2
Explore Ba Be Lake – Transfer to Cao Bang
After breakfast, experience a boat trip on Ba Be Lake – admire the deep blue lake, layered limestone mountains, lakeside villages, and the peaceful natural surroundings. Depending on operational conditions, you may visit Puong Cave, Fairy Pond, or other nearby attractions. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, depart for Cao Bang, with stops along the way. Arrive in Cao Bang, check in at the hotel. The evening is free to explore Cao Bang cuisine: steamed rice rolls, sour pho, or enjoy coffee in the city center.
Day 3
Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao Cave – Cao Bang
After breakfast, depart for Ban Gioc Waterfall – the scenic highlight of Cao Bang province. The road passes through terraced rice fields, palm forests, and layered hills. Visit, take photos, and enjoy the natural surroundings at the waterfall area. You can add a raft/boat experience if the service is operating. Continue to visit Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most accessible and beautiful caves in the Trung Khanh area. Return to Cao Bang, overnight at the hotel. The evening is free or enjoy dinner with local specialties.
Day 4
Cao Bang – Return to Hanoi
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and depart for Hanoi by private car. Stop along the way, have lunch at a local restaurant. Arrive in Hanoi in the late afternoon. Drop off at your central hotel or Noi Bai Airport according to your flight schedule. End of program. You can extend with Ninh Binh, Ha Long, Sapa, or a golf package around Hanoi upon request.
