You will sit on a traditional bamboo basket boat — each usually carries 2 guests — rowed by a local through the coconut water maze. Day 1
Half-day journey: Basket boat & Cam Thanh coconut village
Time: 08:00 – 11:30 or 14:00 – 17:30 (morning or afternoon slot).
/ 14:00 Pick-up from your hotel in central Hoi An (or Da Nang if you choose the Da Nang package). Journey about 10-15 minutes from Hoi An, 45-60 minutes from Da Nang.Arrive at the boat dock — receive life jackets, conical hats, and a 5-minute safety briefing. Each basket boat holds 2 guests + 1 local rower.
45-60 minutes on the water — weave through the green coconut water canals, enjoying the peaceful countryside. The rower may perform a spinning basket boat show (voluntary, not forced). Stop at a beautiful photo spot in the middle of the coconut forest.
After getting back to shore (depending on package): try net fishing, catching crabs, making coconut leaf crafts, or sipping coconut water/snacks.
Return to hotel — or continue with other experiences: cooking class, Hoi An Ancient Town, lantern making, or an evening food tour.
Note: It's best to go early morning or late afternoon to avoid the harsh sun. The area can be crowded on weekends, holidays, and Tet. Spinning the basket boat may cause dizziness — guests with motion sickness, pregnant women, and elderly with weak health should skip this activity.
