Overview

A 2-day, 1-night Ha Long Bay cruise takes you to sleep in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Complete with sunset, sunrise, kayaking, caves, and onboard dining.

Sleep Overnight on Ha Long Bay — An Unmissable Experience

If you only have one chance to visit northern Vietnam, don't just see Ha Long Bay for a few hours and leave. A night on a cruise in the heart of the bay will be a lasting memory — where you sink into the pink-purple sunset on emerald waters, wake up amidst the morning mist with gentle waves lapping against the boat, and watch the sunrise illuminate thousands of majestic limestone islands.

The 2-day, 1-night Ha Long Bay cruise is the perfect choice for couples, families, or nature lovers who want to enjoy the heritage slowly and emotionally.

Top Experiences on the Cruise

This is more than just a sightseeing trip — it's a night lived fully within the heritage. You'll kayak through crystal-clear water caves, explore Sung Sot Cave with its fantastical million-year-old stalactites, then climb to the top of Titop Island for a panoramic view of the bay — one of the best check-in spots in Southeast Asia.

Onboard, the chef will guide you in making Hanoi spring rolls during a sunset cooking class. In the evening, relax on the sundeck, go squid fishing with the crew, or simply lie back and stargaze. The next morning, wake up to practice Tai Chi at sunrise like a local — a peaceful start to the day like no other.

Depending on your budget, you can choose a 3-star standard cruise, 4-star luxury, or 5-star premium with a private balcony cabin — each class offers a unique experience, but all share one thing: the breathtaking view of Ha Long Bay right outside your window.

Detailed Itinerary

1

Day 1

Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Sung Sot Cave – Kayak – Titop Island – Overnight on Boat

08:00 – 08:30: | Pick up from Hanoi
Shuttle bus or limousine picks you up from your hotel in the Old Quarter / central Hanoi area. Depart for Ha Long via the Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway, travel time approximately 2.5 – 3 hours. Along the way, you'll pass through lush green rice fields of the Red River Delta.
11:30 – 12:00: | Check-in at the port
Arrive at Tuan Chau or Ha Long International Cruise Port. Complete check-in procedures at the lounge; crew members assist with luggage and take you to the cruise by tender.
12:15: | Welcome drink & cabin assignment
Board the boat and be greeted with a refreshing drink. The cruise manager briefs the 2-day itinerary and safety instructions. Receive your cabin key — a cozy room with a window directly overlooking the bay.
12:45: | Lunch on the cruise
Lunch is served as the boat glides past iconic limestone islets: Fighting Cocks Islet, Incense Burner Islet. Fresh seafood, local vegetables, and Vietnamese dishes are beautifully presented.
14:30: | Explore Sung Sot Cave
First stop — Sung Sot Cave, the largest and most beautiful cave in Ha Long Bay. Walk through two enormous chambers with stalactites in myriad shapes: dragons, Buddha, mermaids. Lighting enhances the magical beauty of nature.
15:30: | Kayak or bamboo boat through Luon Cave
The most anticipated experience: paddle your own kayak through low cave arches into a secluded lagoon inside the limestone mountain. The water is mirror-calm, surrounded by vertical cliffs covered in ferns. If you prefer not to paddle, you can take a bamboo boat rowed by a local.
16:30: | Titop Island — swimming & viewpoint climb
Near sunset, the boat stops at Titop Island. You have two choices: swim on the crescent-shaped white sand beach, or climb 400 steps to the summit. From the Titop viewpoint, the entire Ha Long Bay unfolds like a watercolor painting — islands dotting the emerald water, boats drifting lazily. This is the Instagram moment everyone wants.
17:30: | Sunset party on the sundeck
Return to the boat just as the sun begins to set. The sundeck transforms into a light party space: hot ginger tea, pastries, fresh fruit, and a sky painted in pink and orange on the horizon. Nothing is more romantic than this moment.
18:30: | Cooking class — learn to make spring rolls
The boat chef guides you in making Hanoi spring rolls — a dish that seems simple but is full of finesse. You roll your own spring rolls, dip them in sweet-sour fish sauce, and enjoy your creation.
19:15: | Dinner on the bay
Dinner is served in the boat's restaurant — grilled seafood, hot pot, Asian-Western dishes depending on the cruise class. Candlelight, gentle waves, and a starry night sky create an unforgettable dinner.
20:30: | Free evening: squid fishing, relaxation, stargazing
After dinner, you can go squid fishing with the crew — a fun and addictive activity. Or simply lie on the sundeck, sip a cocktail, and count stars. Your cabin is ready for a night's sleep in the heart of the heritage.

Day 2

Sunrise Tai Chi – Morning Exploration – Brunch – Hanoi

06:00: | Greet the sunrise & Tai Chi on the sundeck
Wake up early, step onto the sundeck and breathe in the fresh air in the middle of the bay. Ha Long sunrise is the most magical moment — the first rays of sunlight gild the limestone peaks, the water sparkles like silver. A Tai Chi master guides you through slow movements, relaxing your body amidst the majestic natural scenery.
06:45: | Light breakfast on board
Coffee, tea, pastries, and fresh fruit are served. Enjoy your meal while watching the bay in the early morning.
07:30: | Explore the final stop of the journey
Depending on the cruise route, you may visit a cave, a floating fishing village, or a final light kayaking area before the boat returns to port. Some cruises take you to less touristy areas where you truly feel the peace of the bay.
09:30: | Check-out cabin
Pack your luggage, check out of your cabin, and leave your belongings at the reception area.
10:00: | Brunch on board
A hearty brunch is served as the cruise slowly heads back to port. A final meal on the boat with a panoramic view of the bay before saying goodbye.
11:00 – 11:30: | Dock at port, farewell to Ha Long
The cruise docks. You disembark and board the vehicle back to Hanoi. On the way back, you can nap or look through the best photos of the trip.
14:30 – 15:30: | Arrive in Hanoi
The vehicle drops you at your hotel or a central point in Hanoi. End of the 2-day, 1-night journey — you now have the most memorable experiences and photos of northern Vietnam.
