Overview
This is a three-day loop out of Ho Chi Minh City that follows the western edge of the Mekong Delta. It pairs the coastal sites of Hà Tiên with the pilgrimage cluster at Núi Sam in Châu Đốc, then closes with a boat trip through Tra Su cajuput forest before the drive back.
Coast, border town and flooded forest
Hà Tiên
Visit Thạch Động, the Mạc Cửu tomb and Hang Pagoda, then watch the sunset over Hà Tiên bay and walk the night market.
Núi Sam, Châu Đốc
Visit Bà Chúa Xứ Temple, the Thoại Ngọc Hầu tomb and Tây An Pagoda, then go up Núi Sam for the view over the border area.
Tra Su Cajuput Forest
Ride a tắc ráng and a rowing boat (xuồng ba lá) through the channels, with birds and green duckweed around you.
