Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Hanoi - Cat Ba - Lan Ha Bay - Kayaking & Swimming
We pick you up from your hotel in central Hanoi. Depart for Hai Phong, then take a speedboat to Cat Ba Island. The road + sea journey takes about 4 hours.
Arrive at Cat Ba Island, check in your hotel. Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch at a local restaurant.
Board a boat to Lan Ha Bay. You'll pass through stunning limestone islands - fewer boats than Ha Long, clearer water. Stop at a wild beach for a swim.
Paddle your kayak through limestone caves and into hidden lagoons accessible only by kayak. Experience the bay up close.
Watch the sunset over the bay, then the boat takes you back to Cat Ba.
Enjoy a seafood dinner. Free time to stroll around Cat Ba town in the evening. Overnight at your hotel on the island.
Day 2
Viet Hai Village - Cat Ba National Park - Hanoi
Breakfast at the hotel.
A small boat or electric car takes you to Viet Hai village - a tiny village nestled in the Cat Ba National Park. You cycle or take a light trek through the village, seeing rice fields, forests, and the peaceful life of the locals.
Near Viet Hai village, you can do a short light trek in Cat Ba National Park - one of the last remaining primary rainforests on the limestone island. This is the habitat of the rare Cat Ba langur, a primate species with only about 70 individuals left in the world.
Return to town, have lunch and check out of the hotel.
Take the speedboat back to Hai Phong, then a car takes you back to Hanoi.
Drop you off at your hotel. End of the green island and blue bay journey.
