Detailed Itinerary
Day 1
Hanoi – Hon Gai – Board Cruise – Bai Tu Long – Kayak & Sunset
Pickup from your hotel in central Hanoi. Depart for Hon Gai (Ha Long) — a journey of about 3 hours through rice fields and the Red River Delta suburbs.
At Hon Gai port, you are greeted with drinks and cold towels. The captain introduces the itinerary, safety rules, and activities for the 2 days. Check in to your private cabin on the cruise.
Lunch is served as the cruise begins to leave the port, gliding past the first limestone islands. The menu includes fresh seafood and Vietnamese dishes.
The cruise anchors in the Bai Tu Long Bay area. You kayak through small caves, explore the limestone mountains from the water, and enjoy a sense of freedom in the bay. This is the part most guests love the most — being close to the water, touching the limestone, and hearing the gentle paddle strokes in the quiet space.
Return to the cruise, you can go to the sundeck to watch the sunset — the moment the sun sets behind the limestone mountains, turning the whole bay golden. Ideal time for photos and relaxation.

Day 2
Sunrise on the Bay – Vung Vieng Village – Hanoi
Wake up early to catch the sunrise on the bay — one of the most beautiful moments of the trip. The cruise usually has a morning Tai Chi class on the sundeck for guests who want light exercise.
Light breakfast on the cruise — bread, fruit, tea/coffee.
A small boat takes you to Vung Vieng fishing village — one of the few remaining floating fishing villages on the bay. You'll ride a bamboo boat through the floating houses, learn about the fishermen's lives, how they raise fish, fish, and live on the water. Vung Vieng village is smaller and more pristine than Cua Van, giving a more authentic feel.
Return to the cruise, check out. The cruise slowly heads back to the port while you enjoy brunch.
A late brunch is served as the cruise approaches the port.
Say goodbye to the cruise at Hon Gai port. A car picks you up and departs for Hanoi.
